Live Free is a project of community initiatives.
Its aims are…
- To reconstruct the public safety system
- To hear the unheard
- To end mass incarceration and criminalization
- To end gun violence
As we can see, the aims are almost identical to all organizations and movements that were overviewed in the previous posts, though this Live Free project focuses more on Black and Brown community.
While the discrimination against the African American community is given wide publicity, especially nowadays, less attention is paid to the discrimination against other people of color.
Just as any other organization, movement or community site, there are different articles based on the most concerning problems, available membership and opportunity for donation. Even the design is almost identical to others.
One can say that it’s all about money, the purpose of such organizations and movements is to raise money, not to protect minorities. Whether it is a sort of competition for attention or anything else is for us, readers, viewers, supporters, or non-supporters, to think about.
