National Coalition on Black Civic Participation, Inc.

NCBCP is another one of many organizations aimed at encouraging voting and participation in the Black community. This participation is view not only as a necessity, but as a tradition and responsibility.

As far as we can see, it influences both on national and local levels through organization of educational programs and leadership training. When analyzing this organization, we see that the name clearly depicts the whole point of this organization, that it specializes mainly in specific problems of the Black community, while previously overviewed organizations and movements expanded their sphere of influence on other minorities (other people of color, LGBTQ+ communities, etc.) and other non-political issues such as gun violence in the U.S.

Moreover, its form is electronic, not a live-action like BYP 100 movement, which was considered earlier on our site. Maybe that is why their web-site is much more informative, there is huge amount of news there. For instance, one of the recent (February 17, 2023) headlines is “National Coalition on Black Civic Participation supports President Biden’s executive order strengthening racial equality across the federal government”. President and CEO of the NCBCP, Melanie L. Campbell, supported this Executive Order 13985 “Advancing Racial Equity and Support for the Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government”.

In addition, this organization has different partners among the universities in order to deepen the their work, for example, partnership with Clark Atlanta University to strengthen their work in the South.
