BLM against last
century movies
After 2020 BLM
protests the entertainment industry changed a lot. Many big names like StarWars,
Marvel and actors shared their support for the movement.[1]
Some companies even donated money to help bail out the arrested.[2]
Moreover, many movies
and series got cancelled. In this post we will examine the removal of one of
the best movies in American history “Gone with the Wind”.
However, some emotional
activists always had problems with the movie. In 1973 a journalist released a
reaction of black to the movie.[3]
Even in 1936 Labor Party claimed that the film will encourage such
organizations as KKK and will be welcomed by the Fascists and Nazis.[4]
Today liberals claim
that this movie romanticizes South, using heavy black stereotypes, promotes
racism and white supremacism.[5] Platforms
like HBO and Netflix removed the movie from the catalog because it was against
their values.[6] Both
companies though assured that “Gone with the Wind” will come back but with a
specific documentary that restores justice and exposes truth on black struggle.
Nowadays big companies
tell you what you need to watch. They are not giving your freedom to choose,
they act like a re-educational institution which promotes censorship.
